ABOUT LONE OAK FARM

For more than 20 years Pat Hankins has been perfecting his passion for raising cattle. The desire to farm began when he was a young boy visiting his grandfather’s rural Iowa farm. It was there where he developed steadfast values, a strong work ethic, and the passion required to be a successful cattleman. His enthusiasm grew into a career on 100,000 acre ranches in Southern Arizona and Northern Mississippi, where Pat managed over 10,000 head of cattle at a time – from birth to rail.

Now on the Lone Oak Farm in Lewisburg, Tennessee, Pat has chosen quality over quantity. Fueled by a desire to eat healthy while remaining environmentally aware, he now favors the purity of organic farming – raising 100% grass fed Tennessee beef. His cattle are inoculated for normal bovine maladies, but NO antibiotics are used. He NEVER uses hormone supplements, NOR do his animals receive animal by-product feed. There are NO chemical insecticides or chemical worming medicines used. The pastures at Lone Oak feature a variety of grasses, including fescue, clover, Bermuda, orchard and crab grass.

Talk to Pat for five minutes, and you will quickly pick up on those things he finds important to farming – welfare for his cattle, and a duty to see that they are humanely processed with a sense of compassion.
